About me

Systems fascinate me! I am deeply curious about not only what is happening, but why, and how the underlying system is contributing.

After more than 40 years as a registered nurse, including decades in critical care and leading inpatient diabetes quality improvement, I realized that the greatest opportunities for improving patient care rarely come from working harder. They come from designing better systems.

I partner with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, educators, and leaders to improve inpatient diabetes care through collaboration, data analysis, education, and practical problem-solving that improves care delivery.

Today, through Y-Y Consulting, I help rural hospitals strengthen their diabetes programs by identifying opportunities, simplifying complex processes, and building sustainable clinical systems that improve both patient outcomes and staff confidence.

The people closest to patient care know the challenges. My role is to help organizations see patterns, connect the dots, and develop practical solutions that fit their unique environment.

Whether supporting clinical care, educating clinicians, or analyzing glucose management data, my goal remains the same:

Helping hospitals build systems that make excellent care easier to deliver.

my philosophy

Glucose values and graphs tell a story.

Adverse events have a lesson.

Workflows reveal a pattern.

Processes reveal a system.

By connecting these dots, I help uncover patterns, build better systems, and create sustainable solutions for their unique environment so healthcare teams can deliver safer diabetes care and improve outcomes.

Whether supporting clinical care, educating clinicians, or analyzing glucose management data I help hospitals build systems that make excellent care easier to deliver.
